- Bronze Medallion course (if you haven’t completed it and it’s required as a prerequisite to compete)
- Club Competition Cap and Competition Vest (if you don’t already have them)
- Registration fees for some competition events (payable upon registration)

Yes, we cater for all occasions including weddings, corporate events, and private parties.
No, age groups are predetermined by SLSA and must be adhered to. It’s unfair on Age Group Managers to coach children at different maturity levels.
Yes, this is fine for FIFO members and separated partners who share childcare, as long as your child is always supervised on the beach.
No, we are a licensed venue and alcohol from outside the premises is prohibited.
Under the Woodside Nippers Program, each child receives an age group cap and hi-vis vest. Additional merchandise can be purchased from the Club Merchandising shop (located in the training room off the upper ground floor balcony, open 8-8:30am Sundays).
Children must wear the club uniform and follow SLSA SunSafe guidelines when participating in beach programs. To compete in interclub competitions, children must have the required club uniform including a Coogee Beach Competition cap (purchased separately).
Yes, we have smaller room options available. You don’t need to book the entire function room.
No, the SLSA age group program is not a swim school.
It’s each parent’s responsibility to supervise their children. Consider asking a friend or neighbour to assist you on the beach.
No, children are only eligible to earn the award for their year of birth age group.
Yes, they will still qualify if they meet the individual award requirements.

It’s our duty of care to ensure each child under 13 has appropriate parental supervision.
Age Group Managers are volunteers assigned to manage groups of children in their relevant age group program. They help develop surf life saving skills and personal skills, delivering a structured learning program that encourages and develops young surf life savers.
You can enrol in any of our courses (some have additional fees), attend Social Club nights and Sunday sessions, and receive member pricing on drinks. You can also bring up to 5 guests.
For their own safety, your child will need to be restricted to sand-based activities.
The KidSport program is a government-funded program run with the City of Cockburn to support participation in junior sport. If you meet the criteria (pension card holder, etc.), you may be eligible for a refund of your child’s membership fees. The Club is a registered KidSport organisation. For more information, visit the KidSport website.
If you have a child in Under 6’s or 7’s, you must provide hands-on supervision. Little Nippers can be easily distracted and put themselves in danger quickly. Adults must be on the beach at all times to be immediately available if their child becomes ill or distressed.
Visit the Merchandising Shop upstairs off the balcony, open most Sundays before Nippers activities start.
