Lifesaving at Coogee

From the Jervoise Bay Sailing Club to Port Coogee, our volunteer surf lifesavers watch over one of WA’s most loved stretches of coastline.

In the 2024/25 season alone, our team of over 350 members delivered more than 6,000 hours of patrols, responded to 157 first aid incidents, and took 364 preventative actions to keep beachgoers safe. With advanced capability to save lives through Advanced Resuscitation, Pain Management, IRB, Rescue Water Craft, and drone operations, we’re equipped to protect beach goers. If you love the ocean, care about your community, and want to learn life-saving skills, become a lifesaver at Coogee Beach SLSC today.

Becoming a lifesaver

There’s more than one way to wear the red and yellow at Coogee Beach SLSC. You’ll gain valuable skills in rescue techniques, first aid, communication, and public safety while playing a vital role in protecting our community. Patrol

Patrol members are the heart of Coogee Beach Surf Life Saving Club. As trained volunteers, they help keep our beachgoers safe by performing vital duties – from surf surveillance and first aid to setting up rescue equipment and responding to emergencies. When you become a lifesaver, you’ll be placed in a dedicated patrol group and rostered across the season to help protect our coastline, build your skills, and represent the club with pride. All Bronze patrolling members have access to the Gym free of charge if they complete a minimum of 25 hours of patrol each season.
